2012 All-Star Weekend Football Camp on Saturday, May 12th

April 14th, 2012

Hello Football Fans!

We would like to invite you to join us for the 2012 All-Star Weekend Football Camp on Saturday, May 12th at  McMahon Stadium in Calgary. Learn football from the best! Participants will be divided into appropriate  age groups and will learn individual and team techniques on both offense and defense from quarterback Henry Burris. Calgary Stampeders and CFL all-stars from across the country will work with camp participants to hone their football
skills. The camp is available to kids ages 8 to 18. We’ll have two camps that day depending on age and each promises to be as much fun for participants as it does for parents watching from the stadium stands!

Attached, you will find a registration form as well as a schedule of the day’s events. Please send all registration forms and payment to myself, Caitlin Blum by fax at 403-777-3525 or you can scan and email your registration to caitlin.blum@bigbrothersbigsisters.ca or by mail/drop-off to:

Athlete Factory-March 2012

When: Tuesday, April 3 @ 7:00pm.

Please RSVP Coach Neil  @ neil.oflaherty@cssd.ab.ca if you plan to attend or are interested but have another commitment that night (this is a parent-only meeting…please provide for children at home where necessary).

Who:

Parents of South Calgary Colts athletes interested in preparing for the upcoming season with performance-related goals and a desire to improve their overall speed, agility, quickness and strength.  Age-appropriate training for athletes of all ages with an 8:1 athlete-to-coach ratio.

With:
Owner and “Head Coach” Paul Balsom who will provide the orientation.  Other athletes will be    in-session so an added opportunity to observe how others’ (Olympians, Calgary Stampeders, gymnasts, sprinters, etc.) training needs are attended to on a personalized basis.

Why:
In order to build a “culture of football” in our area of the city it is important for us to be willing to prepare in the off-season and compete at the highest level possible while still encouraging our children to participate in other spring sports.  Initial commitment to be determined, but looking at one technical session and one work-out session per week as a group (mid-April-end of June).

Please RSVP  to Neil by Monday, April 2 so Paul knows how many to expect.

Dear Friend of the Colts
On behalf of the South Calgary Colts, I would like to extend an invitation to you and your company to become a sponsor for our 2009 season. The South Calgary Colts is a non-profit organization whose mission is to:
• Provide youth with organized competition in a safe environment;
• Bring our youth closer together through common interest in sportsmanship and competition;
• Instil the values of education;
• Acquaint the players with the fundamentals of the game rules; running, kicking, blocking, and tackling;
• Teach sportsmanship, discipline and love of the game;
• Encourage the players to maintain satisfactory and above grades in school and to emphasize the importance of keeping a proper relationship and balance between scholastic and athletic endeavours; and
• Emphasize the importance of life lessons learned athletics

As you know, operating such a program takes time and money. Our funding will be dependent upon the contributions of local businesses and individual donations, along with registration fees. However, our goal is to keep the registration fees affordable for all, and this is how your sponsorship money will make up the difference needed to provide uniforms, equipment, supplies, trophies, and travel-related expenses once the season has started.

On behalf of all the children in this community who will benefit from your support of our program, the South Calgary Colts would like thank you. We look forward to building a strong partnership with you and your company that will enable us to fulfill the hopes and dreams of our youth.

We would like to extend a Special Thanks to the Sponsors Listed below for there much appreciated donations.
